It is easy, fast and cheap to visit Bergen!

You can get to Bergen from all over Europe through fast and easy transfer via Frankfurt (Lufthansa), Amsterdam (KLM), Copenhagen or Oslo (SAS, Norwegian) or Riga (Air Baltic).

In addition direct flights to Bergen (BGO) are available from the following European cities:

Direct flights to Bergen from within Norway:

  • Kristiansand (SAS)
  • Oslo (Norwegian, SAS)
  • Rygge (Norwegian)
  • Stavanger (Norwegian, SAS)
  • Trondheim (Norwegian, SAS)
  • Tromsø (Norwegian, SAS)

You can also arrive at Haugesund with the low cost airline Ryanair, and travel on to Bergen by ferry (3 hours, from NOK 590 for a return ticket/NOK 430 for students) or  bus (3 hours, NOK 450 for a roundtrip).

Another possible solution is flying to Rygge (south of Oslo) with Ryanair, and then from Rygge to Bergen with Norwegian.

Airport transfer

The easiest way to get from the airport to the marathon location is by using the airport bus (flybussen.no). They will charge you 150NOK (~20 EUR) for a round trip ticket. The bus leaves every 15 minutes and uses around 40 minutes. You should exit the bus at "Fisketorget", which is located about 150 meters from the venue.

A taxi will charge you between 300 and 600NOK (weekend/evening rates).

Train

The Norwegian national railway company is NSB (www.nsb.no). It offers direct trains Oslo-Bergen (8 hrs) and have low-fare tickets from NOK 299 NOK. NSB also offers low fare tickets between Gothenburg-Bergen.

Ferry

You can arrive in the heart of Bergen by ferry from Stavanger, Haugesund and Stord several times per day with Flaggruten. From Hanstholm in the north of Jutland in Denmark, there are departures to Bergen. For more information check www.fjordline.com .

Bus

Tou can take the Nor-Way Bussekspress to Bergen from many cities, amongst them are Stavanger and Haugesund.
